Are you finding it difficult to spot real enquiries among the flood of spam in your contact forms?
Is your email inbox overwhelmed with notifications every time the form is submitted?
We faced the same issue with our customers' and our own websites over the years. Fortunately, we could address this problem effectively using Yupform, benefiting all our customers instantly. In Yupform, all form submissions are stored in the cloud database, and you can set up multiple recipients to get email notifications.
We added Google reCAPTCHA 3 to all forms, which assigns a score from 0 (bot) to 100 (human).
Administrators can set a threshold score for each form. If a submission scores below this threshold, it's treated as spam, moved to the spam folder, and no email notifications are sent. This approach has been very successful, helping us manage genuine enquiries more efficiently.
Our general contact form recently became a spam target.
Yesterday, it received 98 spam submissions and 3 genuine enquiries. Thanks to our spam filtering, I only received the 3 legitimate emails and could respond accordingly. We might need to make further adjustments, like moving the form or enhancing the spam filter, but for now, it's easy to check the spam folder every few days and delete all spam entries. We'll keep monitoring and adapting our methods to stay ahead of the issue, ensuring we provide the best service to our current and future customers.
